1. Students who gain admission to Bogazici University through the Selection Examination for Vertical Transfer (DGS) must fulfill the English language proficiency requirement in accordance with Article 2 of Boðaziçi University Undergraduate Program Regulations. Students whose level of English is inadequate attend the English Preparatory Program at the BU School of Foreign Languages. Those who prove their proficiency in English by an examination given by the School of Foreign Languages (Boðaziçi University Proficiency Test) or another examination the equivalence of which is accepted by the University Senate may enroll in their relevant programs.

2. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. Courses previously completed in the former School of Advanced Vocational Studies are assessed by the Executive Committee of the relevant Faculty and treated as external transfer courses. Those students whose previous course work is found inadequate may be allowed to study up to three semesters in the Undergraduate Preparation Program. Those who fail these courses are dismissed from the University.

3. Students who fail no more than two of the courses in the Undergraduate Preparation Program are allowed to enroll in third year courses on condition that they repeat the failed courses in their third year, provided that they have completed at least 50 % of credits required for graduation including the transfer credits, and that their Grade Point Average in the courses they have taken in this program is 2.00 and above.

4. The maximum period of study for a student who is admitted to Boðaziçi University through the Selection Examination for Vertical Transfer is 7 semesters, excluding the English Language Preparatory program and the Undergraduate Preparation Program.

5. Any leave of absence granted to a vertical transfer student during his Undergraduate Preparation Program will count in the student's maximum period of study.

6. Tuition fees to be paid by students who have gained admission to Boðaziçi University through the Selection Examination for Vertical Transfer are calculated on basis of the total number of semesters transferred and semesters he is enrolled in BU undergraduate programs.
