The present area of specialization at the master's level
is in Educational Sciences are Adult Education, Guidance and Psychological
Counseling, and Curriculum and Instructional Programs. These programs
emphasize both the theory and technical competence required for future
doctorate students as well as practitioners in the area or similar areas.
These programs encourage students to develop an inquiring scientific approach
and a professional attitude and competence toward issues in the field
within the frame of the scientist-practitioner model.
MASTER OF ARTS PROGRAM
a) Guidance and Psychological Counseling
The Master of Arts Program in the Department of Educational Sciences in
Guidance and Psychological Counseling is a two-year program consisting
of 36 credit hours of coursework spread over four semesters including
the preparation of a thesis (Yuksek Lisans Tezi) and the oral defense
of the thesis. Students are also required to do field work as assigned
on a non-credit basis. The successful completion of the program leads
to the Master of Arts Degree in Educational Sciences (Egitim Bilimleri
Yuksek Lisans Diplomasi).

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAM
The Ph.D. program in Educational Sciences (Egitim Bilimleri
Doktora Programi) consists of a minimum of 21 credit hours of course work
beyond the Master's Degree, spread over a maximum of four semesters followed
by a qualifying examination, submission of Ph.D. Dissertation (Doktora
Tezi) and the oral defense of the dissertation. The successful completion

to data with an emphasis on the analysis of variance and multiple comparison
