The Department of Computer Education and Educational
Technology offers a four-year program leading to a bachelor's degree.
The program aims to enable students not only to take up teaching positions
but also to prepare for careers as instructional technologists, educational
specialists, instructional designers, trainers, and experts in educational
computing. In addition to theoretical courses at the university, authentic
practice in companies and guided internship in schools prepare students
to analyze performance problems and design, develop, implement and evaluate
instructional strategies and products. The curriculum emphasizes analysis, design, production and evaluation
aspects of project development. Use of the Internet and multimedia for
distance learning is included, as are a variety of strategies such as
simulation and game design, virtual reality, simulators for skill, performance
support tools, and quality assurance testing. Furthermore, it recognizes
the importance of aesthetic elements and therefore integrates graphic
design, art, and music with advanced technologies for the creation, production
and delivery of multimedia programs. Students use multimedia authoring
software, advanced 3D, graphics programs, and digital video editing equipment.
Creative writing for multimedia is given high importance.
